At 19 years old at the time, she dropped Here, her first single. The single was a hit and received praise from critics and listeners alike. The song reached the top spot at 19 on both the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in 2015. In the same year, she released the album she titled Know It All, the song Scars to Your Beautiful ranked on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It was also one of the five original songs. The track is special due to the Rap-Up interview that she conducted, many of people who listened to her music could relate to her experience in learning to love themselves as well as doubting herself. Cara's music often contains positive thoughts about mental health and how important it is to love yourself. Every song Cara sings comes directly from her struggles with mental illness, insomnia and other issues. In an interview with Reuters she declared her album to be "half tumultuous" as well as "half flawless". She found that therapy has helped her develop and encourages people to try it too. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian artist since the year 1996. Her parents have Italian origin. In 2010, her parents bought her a new guitar, which she used to further develop her passion for the music. At the age of 13she began covering songs she adored on YouTube to prove to her fans that she was talented and was able to pursue a career as musician. Sweater Weather became her most popular album. An album label, EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her to write songs.
