The song peaked at number 19 in both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the hit one of the Best Songs of the year. In that same year she released her debut album Know It All with the third single Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks that peaked at Billboard charts including the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. This particular track was special due to her interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners were inspired by her story through self-doubt and discovering how to love herself. Cara is known for incorporating the themes of mental health and compassion and self-love in her music. The music she sings is reflective of her own struggles with mental illness and insomnia. According to an Reuters interview, the album has been described as a halfway tumultuous, half perfected. Therapy helped her grow and urges other artists to follow the same path. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11, 1996. When she was 10 years old, her parents bought her a guitar, which was the foundation of her musical passion. In 2013, she performed some of her most loved songs on YouTube, a popular social media site. This was to demonstrate that she had both the ability and the confidence to become an artist. In fact, one of the covers Sweater Weather ended up getting her attention by a record label named EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create the songs.
