When she was 19 She released her debut single Here. The track was highly praised by both critics and the public. It reached the top spot at 19th at both Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the track as one of the year's Best Songs. The singer released her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was one of five tracks that made it to the top spots on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. The track is special due to the Rap-Up interview that she conducted, many of the listeners could connect to her experiences of finding love for themselves, and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara's songs include messages of kindness as well as self-love and mental wellbeing. The music she sings is reflective of her own struggles with mental illness and insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, the album has been described as a half tumultuous half perfected. She tells people that she found her growth through therapy. In 2010, her parents gave her a brand-new guitar that she was able to use to develop her passion for music. In the year 2003, she turned 13, she began singing her favorite tracks through YouTube. It was an excellent way to showcase to others her talent and courage. One of her covers, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to create and record her own tracks.
