The single came out in the year 2015, just as she was turning 19. The track was highly praised by critics as well as listeners. This was her beginning with music. In 2013, she performed some of her most loved songs on YouTube which is a well-known platform for media. It was done to show that she had the capability and the self-confidence to pursue a career as an artist. In fact, one of the covers Sweater Weather ended up getting her attention by a record label named EP Entertainment which allowed her to create and write songs.
