The single was published in 2015, when she turned 19. It received lots of praise and was well-received both by critics and listeners. The Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked the single at 19. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song among the 2015's most memorable Songs. The same year she launched her first album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. The track was also one of the five original songs. In an interview that Cara gave together with Rap Up, the song had a lot of meaning for many of the listeners who related to her tale of learning to accept and love yourself. Cara is famous for including messages about mental health love and self-love into her songs. The music of Cara is directly from her struggle with depression, insomnia and other issues. According to a Reuters interview, she described her album as half-tumultuous and half well-crafted. She found growth through therapy and she encourages others to seek help if necessary. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician was born in Canada on the 11th of July 1996 of Italian descent parents. Her first guitar was purchased by her parents after she turned 10 which ignited her musical passion. At the age of thirteen, she began singing songs she liked on YouTube in order to show the public that she was a talented artist and was able to pursue a career as an artist. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and compose her own music.
