She released her debut single, Here, in 2015 at the age of 19 years old. The track received praise by music critics as well as listeners. It reached number 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's most memorable Songs. That same year she debuted her debut album Know It All, the single Scars to Your Beautiful ranked in the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It also was among the first five songs. The song was particularly memorable because it was based on an interview with Rap-Up many listeners were inspired by her story of doubting herself and learning how to love herself. Cara is known for including messages on mental health, kindness and self-love into her music. Everything stems from her personal experience as she been battling mental health issues as well as insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, she described her album as half tumultuous and half perfected. The therapy she received helped her grow and urges people to try it too. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. In 2010, her parents bought her a new guitar which she utilized to further develop her passion for music. At 13 years old, she started covering her most loved songs through YouTube one of the biggest media platforms in order to demonstrate to the world that she had the talents and courage to become a professional singer.
