She released her debut single, Here, in 2015 at the age of 19 years old. The track received praise by music critics as well as listeners. The song was particularly memorable because it was based on an interview with Rap-Up many listeners were inspired by her story of doubting herself and learning how to love herself. Cara is known for including messages on mental health, kindness and self-love into her music. Everything stems from her personal experience as she been battling mental health issues as well as insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, she described her album as half tumultuous and half perfected. The therapy she received helped her grow and urges people to try it too. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. In 2010, her parents bought her a new guitar which she utilized to further develop her passion for music. At 13 years old, she started covering her most loved songs through YouTube one of the biggest media platforms in order to demonstrate to the world that she had the talents and courage to become a professional singer.
