Alessia Cara
In the year 2015, at age 19, she debuted her first single Here. The single was a hit and received praise from the public and from critics. The track made it to the top 19 in both the Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the hit one of the Best Songs of the year. That same year she debuted her debut album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked on the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It was also one of the five original songs. The song was particularly memorable since based on her interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners were inspired by her story through self-doubt and discovering how to be a better person. Cara's tracks often contain positive thoughts about mental wellness and the importance of being self-love. She's been in the midst of anxiety and insomnia, both of which has influenced her music. In an interview with Reuters the singer described her album as "half turbulent" and "half perfect". She claims she has grown through therapy and she encourages other people to get assistance when needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11, 1996. In 2010, her parents bought her a new guitar, which she used to further develop her passion for music. She began covering her favourite songs at age 13, to prove to that world that she was a talented musician and the determination required to be a singer. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the first thing that made her stand out. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to create and record her own tracks.
