The single was published at the time she was 19 years old. It was an instant hit with both critics as well as admirers praised the song. The song was ranked in the top 19 on both Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and also on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's Best Songs. In that same year she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks which peaked on the Billboard charts, including those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. The track in question was unique since based on her interview with the Rap-Up show, many fans shared their experiences through self-doubt and discovering how to love herself. Cara's music often contains positive messages regarding mental health, and how important it is to love yourself. She has been struggling with anxiety and insomnia, both of which has influenced her music. According to a Reuters interview, she's described her album half tumultuous but half perfected. Therapy helped her grow and urges people to try it too. Alessia Cara is a Canadian artist who was born July 11 1996 to parents of Italian descent. Her parents gave her guitar at the age of 10 years old, which brought her to music. In the age of 13, she started covering songs she adored on YouTube to demonstrate to her fans that she was a talented artist and had the courage to pursue a career as a musician. In fact the cover song Sweater Weather became the song which got her attention by EP Entertainment. They allowed her to compose and record her own tracks.
