Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in the year 2015. In the same year, she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of five original songs that reached the Billboard charts. This particular track was special since based on her interview with the Rap-Up show, many fans related to her journey through self-doubt and discovering how to accept herself. Cara's songs contain messages of love self-love, self-love and mental wellness. Every song Cara sings comes directly from her struggle with depression, insomnia and other issues. When she spoke to Reuters she declared her album to be "half tumultuous" as well as "half perfect". She describes her growth through therapy, and encourages others to seek help when they need it. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian musician since 1996. Her parents are of Italian origin. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was 10, and it led to her passion for music. In the age of 13, she started covering songs she adored on YouTube in order to show the public that she had talent and brave enough to go after a career as a musician.
