The song was released in the year 2015, just as she turned 19. It became a huge hit immediately that both critics and admirers praised the song. The song reached the top spot at 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the song one of their Top Songs in the year 2015. In that same year she released her debut album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks which reached the top of Billboard charts including the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. In her interview with Rap-Up, many listeners spoke about Cara's struggle to find self-love as well as the doubts she faced. Cara's tracks often contain positive messages regarding mental health and the importance of loving oneself. Cara has struggled with anxiety and insomnia that have influenced her journey. In a Reuters interview, she's described her album half tumultuous and half-perfected. She says she grew by therapy and is adamant about encouraging anyone else to seek out help when they need it. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born July 11th, 1996 to parents of Italian origins. Alessia Cara's parents gave her her first guitar at the age of 10. It was the beginning of her journey with music. Three years later, when she was 13 she started singing her favorite tracks via YouTube. It proved to be a fantastic way to showcase to others that she possessed both talent and courage. One of her covers, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and record her own tracks.
