Dua Lipa is a English singer and songwriter who was born August 22nd, 1995 in London United Kingdom. After having worked as a model her decision was to join Warner Bros Records and release her debut album. The album peaked at the third spot within the U.K. albums chart and featured eight songs, including The U.K. top-ten single New Rules and Be The One. I.D.G.A.F. Lipa received the Brit Awards for British female solo artists and British breakout act in the year 2018. Her album has been certified platinum in the world. Dua Lipa was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London on August 22, 1995. Her maternal grandmother is the reason she's of Bosnian heritage. She can trace her ancestors all the way back to Peja the city of Kosovo. Lipa's grandparents were both historians. She has a brother Gjin Lipa and a sibling Rina. Lipa was musically influenced by her father who was the lead guitarist and singer for the Kosovan the rock band Oda. At home her father continued to play music such as his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at the age of aged five. When she was nine, she started singing at the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has covered songs like If I Ain't Got You as well as Beautiful of Christina Aguilera, both on YouTube. Lipa received a recording contract by Warner Bros. Records in 2014. In August of 2015 her first single New Love came out.
